Some comments:

BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Her Majesty conveyed her good wishes to the organisers and to everyone involved with the British Curry Awards.

10 DOWNING STREET
The Prime Minister is pleased that last year’s inaugural British Curry Awards event was so successful and commented: “Britain’s £3.2 billion curry restaurant industry has for many years now been a leading player in the restaurant and catering sector as a whole, and it is fitting that excellence in the industry should be recognised at such a prestigious event.” This year he added: “For more that 30 years this industry has been a standard bearer for international cuisine. The fact that this event has become established so quickly offers a challenge to the whole sector and will encourage even higher standards of excellence.”

HOUSE OF COMMONS
Conservative Immigration Spokesman, Damian Green MP, is delighted to support the British Curry Awards and commented: “Everyone at this dinner [Awards Gala] represents part of a successful industry which has made itself an essential part of British life. All over Britain in the space of a generation the taste buds of millions have been educated into appreciating new styles of food. I want to preserve the chance for the industry to grow, and to provide job opportunities”.

Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Labour, sends his very best wishes to the British Curry Awards and commented: “The British curry industry is of great significance to the UK economy and I hope that our immigration policy will reflect the importance of the special skills needed in the tens of thousands of curry houses around the country”.
